3/18

10.8 miles to low gap shelter
7.2 miles to blue mtn shelter

Hiked a long day in new shoes and with a lighter reorganized pack, went pretty well, got a new blister on my left toe, but I would take that over heal blisters any day. At the half way point for the day there was a church group giving out sodas, chips, trail mix, candy, first aid, etc. After an hour break and fresh socks, I headed out to low gap shelter. At the shelter, a group of AT enthusiasts hiked in 150 beers and 150 hot dogs for st.pattys day. It was a fun night. Woke up this morning and hiked 7.2 miles to blue mtn shelter and stopped to take a break and eat lunch. Full moon tonight is supposed to be the brightest of my life time, so I may do a night hike to the next campsite.
